How to Keep Hair Healthy

6:00 AM

Hey everyone today i wanted to talk about how to turn back the clock when it comes to your hair. Its simple things you can do to prevent your hair from becoming damaged and unmanageable. Being aware of small changes you can make will definitely improve the life of your hair so lets get into it shall we?

Loosen Up: Tight ponytails, braids, topknots, and towel turbans or anything else that puts stress on your hair roots are a bad idea. They lead to breakage, which can make you look like you have a receding hairline.

Use Less Shampoo: Oversudsing your hair strips away lipids that boost shine and prevent breakage and that's especially problematic as your scalps lipid count starts to drop. At that point you really only have to shampoo hair at its roots. Detangle and soften the rest of your hair with conditioner and always choose moisturizing or color protecting shampoo, which will do the least damage.

Go Easy on Wet Hair: You know that hair is most fragile when its wet, which is why you'd never rub it with a towel. Right? Well, combing your hair right out of the shower is also trouble. So detangle in the shower with a wide-tooth comb while you still have conditioner in your hair.

Turn Down The Heat: Dullness, dryness, fly aways, and frizz are all compounded by blow-dryers, flat irons, and curling irons. You could upgrade to less damaging models: Ionic blow dryers with 2000 plus watts, ceramic, irons, or the Coolway flat iron system, which straightens hair without going over 300 degrees (I will be sure to post a link as to where you can buy this below.) Be sure to also use a heat protective spray before styling, it coats hair with a light layer of silicone and that's the only thing protecting your hair.
Guard Your Color: Stop minerals and chlorine in tap water from fading color by popping a filter on your shower head. Avoid products with alcohol listed as one of the top five ingredients, since they can dry out hair. and be sure to spray on a SPF for your hair during the summer time like Shiseido Refreshing Sun Protection Spray for body/hair Broad Spectrum SPF 16 (I will be sure to link that below.)
I hope this helps you all in maintaining beautiful hair or trying to revive damaged hair. As I said before in a previous post my hair became extremely damaged from bleaching it all blond and after following some simple changes I have made in my haircare routine, my hair is slowly but surely coming back to life so I have confidence that these tips can help you with any sort of damage your hair may have. If you have any other tips or tricks in maintaining healthy manageable hair please be sure to share them in the comments below. Have a beautiful day everyone!!!!
